County Record Books:
4-H Record Book Competition 2016 Important Dates:
June 30th: Members must complete an “Intent to Submit Form” to the County office if they are planning to or thinking about submitting their book to County (for Intermediate and Senior members) and State Competition (for Senior members) Completing this form does not obligate the member to submit, rather it is intended to alert the County volunteers and Staff working with the record books so that they are prepared to provide support to members.
June 30th: Members must complete the “Record Book Quick Start Course” if they plan to submit their book to County and State Competition (for Intermediate and Senior members) This is earlier than the past two years so that members have ample time to review and prepare their record books. They must complete this even if they have completed this in the past.
August 8th: Members must turn in their “Record Books” to their Record Book or Club Leaders for County Evaluation. Date of judging to be determined. (the judging will be mid to end of August)
October 3rd: State Record Books are due to the County office.
October 21st: Record Books for State Competition must ARRIVE to State Office
November 4th – 6th: State Record Book Competition:
- If you are an Intermediate or Senior 4-H Member, we are requesting that you watch the "Record Book Quick Start Course" on the State Record Book Competition page at http://4h.ucanr.edu/ by June 30th (State Deadline)
- If you are an Intermediate or Senior 4-H Member, we are requesting that you complete the "County Intent to Submit Form" (attached below) to the County office. (If you have already turned in the previous form, that will suffice). Completing this form does not obligate the member to submit their record book.
- Members must be prepared to turn their Record Books to their Record Book or Club Leaders for County Evaluation shortly after the SCC Fair (August 8). A date has not be selected for the Evaluation, but will take place mid to end of August.
- Clubs must be prepared to have 1 Evaluator for every 3 Record Books that are submitted.
- If you are planning on submitting your Record Book to the State Record Book Competition, it is required that you watch the "Record Book Quick Start Course" and take the quiz on the State Record Book Competition page at http://4h.ucanr.edu/ by June 30th (State Deadline)
- You are required to turn in an "Intent to Submit Form" to the County office by June 30. Completing this form does not obligate the member.
